Manipur

The word Manipur is derived from two words Mani and Pur . Mani means ‘Jewel’ and Pur means City or place. So Manipur is the jeweled land or the land of jewels as described by its name.
Manipur is a small state in northeastern India.Manipur shares its borders with Nagaland, Assam, and  Mizoram and  national borders with Myanmar.

Manipur  has a total of 9 districts. Manipur is one of beatiful sate of India. The natural beauty of waterfalls, lakes, streams, evergreen forests surrounded by nine sub-Himalayan ranges attract tourist from all over the world.

Climate of Manipur

The climate of the Manipur is salubrious with average annual rainfall.  The Climate is highly influenced by the topography of this hilly region . In Manipur rainfall vary from 933 mm at Imphal to 2593 mm at Tamenglong.The temperature ranges from sub-zero to 36  degree Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded in the summer months of Manipur is 32 degree Celsius.and often fall to sub-zero in winter seasons.
