From Jammu and Kashmir , the Great Himalayan Mountain stretch southwards. Himachal Pradesh forms a Part of this Region. It has a common border with China and Tbet, which lie on the other sode of the Himalayas. Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are the other states that have Common Borders with Himachal Pradesh.
Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh Like other Mountainous states does not have many Industries. Now a many Factories are being set up at Bilaspur , solan and Parvanoo. Parvanoo near Kalka has become and Important Industrial town of Himachal Pradesh. The People of Himachal are Fine craftsmen. They Make shawls and beautiful articles out of wood. The Houses fo all these cold Regions have sloping roof , so that snow can slip and fall down . The Bhakra dam on river Satluj Provides water to the fields and electricity for the industries.

 The Land surface of Himachal Pradesh , Like Jammu and Kashmir , Is made up of Mountains, valleys, Springs and Streams. Satluj , Beas, Ravi and Chenab are the Important rivers.

The Climate of both Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir is alike . During the very cold winters, the Mountain tops get covered with snow.

Tourism in Himachal Pradesh

The cool Summers of himachal Pradesh Attract Tourists from the plains. The Heavy rainfall during Summers is very Useful. The greater part of the Himachal Pradesh is covered with a thick forest of oak and deodar. These forest provide us wood. Many people earn their living from these forests.

Kullu , Manali . Kangra , Kasauli , Dalhousie and Dharmshala are the other important Hill-stations of Himachal Pradesh . the people use horses and ponies to go from one Valley to another.

Fruits Like Apple, Plums and Apricots are grown on terrace orchards. The Golden Apple of Himachal is Famous all over the Country. Many People are Shepherds. They are known as Gaddies. They Wander from place to place with their sheep and goats . They get wool from the hair of these animals.

People Of Himachal Pradesh

The people love singing and dancing . The Nati Dane is their Most Popular Folk- Dance . Shivratri and Dussehra are celebrated joyfully. The Dussehra of Kullu is Very Famous all over the Country. Pahari and Hindi are the Main Languages spoken in the state.

Dresses Of Himachal Pradesh

The Dress of the people of the Himalayan region is such that it protects them from the bitter cold. Like the people of Kashmir, the people of Himachal Pradesh also wear long cloaks . But They wear Churidar Pyjamas with these cloaks . The men wear caps and the women tie colourful scarves on their heads. They wear plenty of jwellery.
