Haryana

The hindi spoken area  of punjab formed a seperate state called Haryana on 1st November 1966 . Uttar Pradesh , Himachal Pradesh , Punjab , Rajasthan and Delhi are the neighbours of Haryana. Chandigarh is the capital of Haryana.Faridabad is the large industrial town of Haryana. It is also known for machine tools ,tractors and electrical goods. Jagadhri is famous for papers and utensils. Bhiwani for textilies, Sonipat for cycles. Panipat for handlooms and Ambala for scientific goods. Gurgaon is famous as industrial town and Maruti cars are also made here. Very Soon there will be oil refinery at karnal. Kurukshetra is the famous pilgrimage place of Haryana. It is said that the battle of Mahabharata was fought here.

Land Surface and Rivers of Haryana

The land surface of Haryana is the fertile plain. The river Yamuna flows through its eastern parts. The Ghaghara and the Markanda are the other main rivers of the Haryana.

Climate of Haryana

The Climate of Haryana  like Punjab is also extereme . It is very hot in summer and very cold in winter. It gets most of the rain in July and Augest.

Tourism in Haryana

Haryana has developed a number of tourist complexes with lakes.The Badkhal lake, Surajkund , Sultanpur and Sohna are some of them. The restaurant of these complexes are named after famous Indian birds. Haryana has a approximately 43 tourist complexes Like Blue Bird in Hisar , Black Bird in Hansi. Pinjaur gardens near Chandigarh are one of the oldest and most beautiful gardens in our country.

Crops Of Harayana

Since the soil and climate of Punjab and Haryana are alike, the crops are also similar. Wheat is the main crop of Haryana. Rice , gram , jawar , bajra , maize , sugar-cane , cotton and pulses are the other major crops. Wheat is also the main food of Haryana.

People Of Haryana

The people of haryana is tall , sturdy and hardworking .When these hardworking farmers , changed over to new methods of farming their fields also became greener and began to produce more. The Green Revolution became a part of Haryana. Today Haryana supplies food and grains and other goods ot the states that do not produce enough. The people of Haryana are also make fine soliders. They speak the Hindi Language.

The women wear either salwar - kameez or they wear ghagra , kameez and odhani. they also wear heavy jewellery. The men wear dhoti , Kurta ( kamri) and turban or cap

Cattles Of Haryana

The Cattle of Haryana are amongest the best in the India. The buffaloes of Rohtak and the cows of Hisar are famous. There is the big dairy farm in Karnal.

Haryana has made great progress. It was the first state in India to provide electricity to every village.
